I couldn\'t agree more. Both times so far I\'ve got (great) minis that I not only would not have bought myself, but were quite tricky to do. Both taught me a lot of things. I might even get the second one done soon if I stop posting here so much

On mini exchange 1 I was sent a fire elemental from RAFM by Grumb.
I had done fire before but never on the scale of this mini, as it was completely fire
It was an intimidating model to do, but I set myslef up, read the tutorial from our local.fire masterand got a great looking mini that taught me some new techniques.

On MN#2 I was sent a historical canon group from Ral Partha, A succubus form a company I had never heard of before, and a Reaper Orc Warlord.
While I havent gotten around to the Succubus or the cannon group yet, I did do some work on the Orc.
Again I wanted to teach myself something new so I looked on Dr. Fausts website and theBrushtralls website for some Bronze ideas. I didn\'t like either one, but noticed that if I combined the two ideas together, I could get a wonderful looking bronze. I used the Orcs armor as a test and was completely surprised by the look. So much so that I used it on bronze technique on the Rackham Dwarven Chariot that just took first place at the Recruits Con.
And I have the Mini exhnage to thank for both.

I agree, I practised corroded brass on my #1 mini that I then used on my Paint Aid Ogre, and for #2 I\'m doing blue steel metals.

u like my @$$ dont you?... eny way... just got the tyranid warriors from my friend (they were out of carnifex) no dont worry im not starting yet! i still got tons of minis to paint for a friend (commision job) plus i think i need to make a bit order (im pretty sure i need winged warriors +sything talon + sything talkin + extended carapace for the army so il\'l be using these to start it off )

Keep it to the miniature exchange if ya\'ll would so that folks can quickly skim through and find out what they want and not have to dig through a bit of hijacking.

Anyhow - ten more days for people sitting on the fence to hope off or jump on the wagon going by. We\'ve got a pretty good group going so far and it would be great to see it grow a bit more.

Yes I\'m offering to send to those who can\'t send in return. I\'m still doing no 2 and I have way too many minis anyway, so I\'m happy to send to someone who doesn\'t have a mini to exchange.

Private swaps are good, I have a heap of things I\'m looking for, should get a list together.

as for me hijacking i wasnt..... all i was saying was that i was using the tyranid warriors (was going to be carnifex) i got from my friend for the mini exchange seeing as i cant participate in the real thing! :bouncy:
