Sorry for the double post, but here is what I have for the mount of Quixote.
I will redo the NMM silver because there is way too much contrast, and it doesn\'t look too good.

Maybe she\'s an amazon and that\'s her trophy :)
And Markus, I\'m sure that when you first bought this mini you already had in the back of your mind this convertion. It was just a matter of time :)

Thats funny, those pics are right off the reaper site (second one altered in Photodraw). But I do own the mini, and yes, she is part of a WIP diorama...

It\'s called submission. :D

If I ever get back to it, I\'ll post pics. She kept her sword, however. Didn\'t want her to appear too......... eager?

@NSA - I was thinking it was \"the family jewels\", mate. :D Thats why the guy (Wismerhill) looks so anguished. lol

Hope your not worried about the mini-diorama I\'m doing with the Space Marine you sent. Much more \"civilized\". I ordered some bits for my concept, so I\'ll be working on him next week. I started the Morbid Puppet, but then decided I didn\'t want to just paint him. That would be to easy. There\'s two ways I might go with him, haven\'t really decided yet. Maybe both!.:D

@James9487 - Looks like you hit the Motherlode there, James. Thats quite a haul! I doubt you\'ll have it all painted by ME17. lol

@Jerome - Damn dude! Is your other name Santa Claus?! The only thing in that pile I have is the Scrapthrall; a very nice sculpt BTW.

Yeah, after I posted that it occurred to me that it looked a little like... a sex toy. But I figured you\'d elaborate soon enough :D

RTB-01 space marines

Hey, everybody!

Great the stuff finally came, James! I was starting to bite nails and worrying about getting another package together.

The RTB-01 marines were included for very selfish reasons on my part -- to see what a talented painter dould get out of them with modern painting techniques. All the pictures I\'ve ever seen of these mini\'s are of older vintage, with paintjobs that reflect their age. Really looking forward to seeing what you can do with them, James.

The Spacehulk termie and genestealer are included for the same selfish reason. Again, older pictures abound and I was wondering what you could do with these. (maybe I can steal some ideas!)

The silver stuff in the plastic bag is from the Urban Mammoth Hexagon builder terrain set, the brown stuff is a Danish-produced sprue of barrels, crates, boxes, sandbags, etc. The two grey resin bases are tech bases from The Figure Trader, the two balck ones are plastic tech bases from Champ Industries (their only product, hope they come out with more.

champ industries

The Ganesha devotional figurine is just about equal to 6mm scale, included that to challenge you!

@ James -- The Don Quixote mount is looking good!

@ Markus -- yeah, the Cryx scrap thralls are very cool by themselves, I\'ve also been bashing them for conversions, the torsos of the bulkier models are great, and the right-handed powerfist on the slighter models is great for conversions.

@Marineboy

Who is the manufacturer of the \"basing\" sprue? You said it\'s a danish company? Why would a company that makes pasteries make plastic sprues? lol

Poor American joke there. I apologize.

I\'ve been looking for inexpensive basing bits for awhile, all I can find is some metal stuff (barrels, whatnot) from GW. I got a buncha Gundam models on clearance at Walmart, and I\'ve been canbalizing them for bits.

When it comes to basing (no, not freebasing ... that\'s been a long ... erm, nevermind) I go with a few things myself.

First, Epicast and Groundforge resin cast bases. Love them. As a matter of fact, I just put in an order with Scott (spacemunkie) for a large lot.

When it comes to the little extras, like treasure chests, gem sacks, crates, barrels, gravestones .. etc, I have found a pretty good selection on Ebay that are resin cast that you can pick up in giant tubs of stuff. Again, just picked up a load of them from a fella in Australia. I\'ll give a bit of a review when I get them, but I think they\'ll turn out pretty neat.

Oh, and the ME3 seems like it is going very well so far, glad to see what people are getting and that some paint jobs are already starting!! Myself, I\'m trying to finish up a couple of things so I can get back to the ME2 and ME3 minis (sigh).

Lastly, I asked before, and I got one reply which has since been taken care of, but is anyone here still waiting to HEAR from one of their partners? Want to make certain the lines of communication are wide open.

Freebasing?

Hmmmmmmm... never heard of it...

{boy... does that bring back baaaad memories}

Anyways, thanks for the info FF, I\'ll have to check out E-bay. I never really go to that sit because I\'m a shop-aholic, and I DO try to keep drool off my keyboard. lol

@ MT - Ha, ha! Lots of stuff comes out of Denmark. When the last time you were in one of those \"adult\" books stores, but alotta that stuff was coming out of DK in the 70\'s and 80\'s....or so I\'m told. ;)

The sprues...I\'ve promised QuietiManes to get a picture up, so it\'s time to get started, I guess.

@ FF - The bases from Epicast look pretty good, their postage options to Europe are outrageous, though, pretty much doubles up the price for an order. I think they\'re using a priority mail option or FedEx, must be to make up their quoted prices. I\'ll be ordering from GroundForge, thier stuff looks too good not to! The Figure Trader makes nice tech bases, I use them to bases Spacehulk figures, looks just right.:D

@ FF - Not sure if I\'ve already said so, but many thanks for helping organize this! It\'s a load of fun, and now I have more stuff to paint. :flip:

So, I\'ve started with the Kuni Yori model, and will probably do the Mourning Wolf second. Kuni Yori has that HUGE base to the fig, so I had been debating doing up a neat base for it, but have since discarded that. They\'ll probably both be based so that they can be used in one of our random D&D games.

For the Cherubael model, I am thinking of snipping off the bits that connect the legs together, and the straps that go to the arms from the sides. For the head, I won\'t be putting the weird tongue thing in and using green stuff to make the Voldo style face thing. Some other mods to the legs, and addition of katar to the forearms, and I\'ll be trying to make Voldo happen. :p So I may be going crazy and being way too optimistic as to what I can do, but I\'ve become interested in that idea again.

Aloha!

Right on Ethan! :) Some of my best work comes from plunging headlong into things I may not be \'qualified\' to do, and never looking back. Great way to learn, at least for me.

Good luck, and you\'ll be happy to know its pouring rain here this weekend. Enjoy the sun.

I think it should arrive beginning of next week, so I don\'t think It will arrive this week :(

Sorry for how this took me :/

Tidoco: Wow, that\'s really cool, I like the metal and especially the color you used on the tongue, just the perfect color.

It\'s been hot and muggy around here. Trade winds aren\'t blowing, but it\'s supposed to pick up later I think. I also love the fact that I have all this time to surf the forum and look at cool minis, and my brushes are sooo far away. :p

Thanks for encouragement! It should be fun, but I\'m probably way over my head. heh.

OK, here\'s the mini Ian(iLynx2k4) sent me

Gonna file off his backpack mount(no space for a pack) and GS something instead, and put a chainsword arm from the commander plastic set on him and a Ultramarine shoulder pad to follow, maybe some purity seals too, and paint him blue !

I hope this works
