Miniature Exchange #3

Hey folks!

Just a heads up, the ME3 comes to a close here on June 15th. As usual, if you haven\'t gotten your miniature finished up by then, no worries, just in the future sometime (sadly, I\'m in that boat right now - but I do have SOME work done on them!).

After the closing of ME3 I\'ll go ahead and start up an ME4 thread and per the usual, give everyone two weeks to jump in or out, depending on how life has been to you, and then we\'ll go ahead and start up the next one on July 1st.

Get to painting!

I need to do so myself (eyeballing undead dwarves halberd that has broke THREE times now ... grrr).

Equus, I didn\'t miss this round. But due to some unforseen circumstances, no mini ever arrived for me to paint.

I believe Joshua is just a effing great guy let alone a great painter, The PMS worrying if this would not be lost state that. He was worried about what he would replace it with. There indeed would be no replacement I could see and now I recognize his worry indeed. Thank you again Joshua it will come back to you I feel sure. I will pay it forward.. :D

finn, thanks for that link.. all the images were gone except for one (the mole/platypus paint by DennisMech) but that more than made up for all the lacking others.

I\'ll be looking through my piggy bank for minis from now one, cheaper than buying them at the lgs, for sure!lollol

It was a good idea at the time..

Seemed to catch a lot of people\'s imaginations. Perhaps they should have posted them directly to CMON? At least we\'d have kept the images then..;)

That kinda reminds me of a commercial that they had for the Franklin Mint, where they had a commemorative silver dollar that was \"hand painted\". I kept wondering why in the world an actual coin collector would want a painted silver dollar. :)

The one image shown was startling both in the excellent execution and the art on the coin. It\'d have been very interesting to see the others, too.

Anybody out there with relevant pics?

Yeah...the amount of workmanship that goes into most of our \"normal\" money is actually really astounding. I mean, ever taken a good look at some of the paper bills and wondered how much time it took an engraver to make the original?
