The initial deal to get interest...
Mr. Rastl wanted Sirius satellite radio when Howard Stern moved over there. (No comments, please. Mr. Rastl does have taste, he did marry me.)
At the time Sirius was in a serious push to get subscribers since it was part of the contracted deal with Howard Stern.
So we were able to get a lifetime subscription at a really great price. The break-even point was four years, IIRC.
Fast forward a few years. Sirius is quite popular now. They don\'t even offer the lifetime subscription any more.
Should they be able to come back to us and say \"Thanks for helping us get off the ground. Now that we\'re buying XM we need more money. So you need to pay again to keep your subscription.\"
Um, no.
MM agreed to the terms when they offered and accepted payment for the initial offering. It isn\'t the fault of those willing to believe in them and pony up the starting cash that they now want to charge more for the service.
I\'ve been on the fence about these DVDs since I heard they were coming out. Everyone talks about how nice it would be to see the technique being demonstrated instead of pictures. And in theory the DVDs would do that nicely.
But I\'ve heard mixed reviews, I hear that they\'re trying to change contract terms for the people who were willing to help them get started, etc. And honestly, once you watch the technique a few times do you really need the DVD any more?
I\'ll be one of the passive observers on this one. And with any luck I\'ll be finding these at my local half price book store in the near future and I can check them out myself.
