I wish MM would add a forum section to their site. I also wish they would commit to some news updates, even if it is just to say they don\'t know when the next video will be out. Disappointing news is better than no news...

I wish they had better customer service, in fact i wish they had any customer service, and answered email, and sorted out complaints:flame:

I sent them an e-mail recently and promptly received a reply. The Rashkal video should be available within the next two weeks, however, the metallics video which I have been drooling for, has been even further delayed. In terms of their service, I cannot make any complaint. The videos are not unreasonably priced and I shun buying the dvd\'s. I have a mac and they play just fine on quicktime and even better in divx for mac. They have offered a sale on the subscription service. It is their right to do so. I work in retail so I know quite well about customer service. Perhaps I am missing something with those who have put forward complaints. What contract has been breached?

Atacam. This time I feel compelled to make some response. Your level of venom just totally amazes me. Perhaps it\'s because I am in middle age and have had a heart attack that I just cannot understand your reaction to your perveived $10. insult and \"poor customer\" service. What do you do when someone cuts you off on the road. Hunt them down and kill them and their children? Accept the fact that you feel
screwed\" and get on with life. Trust me. In our little cornor of the modelling world this will not be the first nor the last time you are disappointed. How are you going to paint if yor arm is paralyzed from a stroke? :):)

I don\'t read it as venom - atacam\'s a disgruntled customer who was treated poorly initially and none of the company\'s subsequent communication was worth a damn. They obviously didn\'t care enough about the bad PR this would generate so why not give them what they asked for!

IMO he\'s absolutely right to bring this up when Miniature Mentor comes up as a subject - and look at his very mild first post in this thread.

...

Like a few other people I would not want to give them any of my $$ on principle after reading this (assuming I had been in the market for something along these lines).

Yeah I think it\'s pretty sad really that a lot of people\'s response to Atacam\'s situation has basically been \"Dude you\'ve been ripped off, it\'s pathetic that you\'re trying to gain recompense, having principles is so wrong\".

There\'s been views like this in every thread. Personally as a pragmatist I wouldn\'t persue the matter, but I can\'t see the logic in questioning someone elses right to do so. I\'m glad we don\'t live in that world yet.

not sure i understand the middle age and heart attack reference in here? some way to get sympathy?

i was looking at these films but again it was for white and black as they are about the only things i struggle with (NMM is not my cup of tea and i was waiting for the Metallics one) so looks like i won\'t be buying them now either

Thank you Einion and Jazz.

Venom, believe me i can strike with venom, if i so wished, but this is not the place or the time for it.
As said, i feel aggrieved, and am trying to get it sorted. If i manage it, others will benefit from it, so what is so wrong in helping myself, and others. Isn\'t it said in the bible, god helps those that helps themselves?

Ok I\'m not religious, but there is sense in the saying. If you don\'t mind being ripped off for $10 i will give you my paypal address and everyone who thinks this is OK, can send me $10.;)

I would still pursue this, as i have said it\'s principle not cost. in fact i have had a very good response from the Competition Bureau Canada and the Canadian Council of Better Business Bureaus and things just need to be followed up. No venom, no hassle(high blood pressure) but thank you for your concerns.

I\'ll check my PP account in a couple of days:D

Search for sympathy- No. I\'m in pretty damn good shape now,but my point was that in the end you have to sort out what is really important. As I once told my boss. Do you think that just before your face hits the floor your gonna think about that report you didn\'t turn in. Also please don\'t misunderstand me. Atacam has every right to be upset and he has made his feelings well known. My point only was that after all these months, say the name Miniature Mentor and he seems to get triggered. Some of the American members will probably remember the Three Stooges comedy skit And that\'s all I\'ve got to say about that.about \"Niagara Falls\" \"slowly, I turned, Step by Step.\" \"Niagara Falls was a trigger like Miniatue Mentor. Unfortunately you can not please everyone. I did buy the first Wolfen disk. I did have problems with it and was given almost immediate asistence. I am in the insurance claims business and you can be sure that some people think I am greatest guy and then are others that refer to me as the \"Prince of Darkness.\" That\'s just the way it is. :D And that\'s all I\'ve got to say about that.

Actually I started to send you a Paypal when I realized your profile doesn\'t list any contact info. Considering I get hit for $10. for a hotdog at the Miniature Figure Collectors of America (MFCA) show 10 bucks is a small price to pay to keep a fellow hobbiest happy. Send me a PM with you contact info.

I must admit that I was a bit disappointed with the black cloth tute myself as I really didnt look as though it had anything to do with the colour black ...similar for the white one too as it was more of a caramel colour than a true white cloth. But I get the technique behind it and that is the most important thing to me.

But while not wanting to knock them I am getting a bit worried about the frequency of tutorial releases as a subscriber and am starting to wonder if it is going to be cheaper to cancel and buy each tute seperately. So far I have paid two months worth and not downloaded a single thing as nothing has been added paintwise.
The last email I received said that the Allan C tute ( I think from memory) was half edited but that was weeks ago.
I do understand that they are flying by the seat of their pants with regards to setting up a business like theirs but I don\'t earn enough on one wage until the kid goes to school to give donations out.

I am going to give it one more month to see how things pan out but I cannot afford it past that.

Thanks anyway. I was only joking BTW. I wouldnt accept it, as it is not down to you to bale them out, but one good thing, is quite a few of the boards I frequent, are giving them more bad reviews than good, so it looks like people are finally coming round. Plus with the Alkemy DVD on the horizon, featuring Bragons work I think this will finally push this one out....And it\'s going got be a LOT cheaper than just the download, and you get the hard copies too. :)

Once again thanks for the offer, but i must decline.

Look here

It\'s not available yet, but sign up and get the news letter.

Cant believe i have had around 20 pms asking about this dvd, as people feel let down or dont want to bother with MM after reading the bad reviews.

I was certainly not dissatisfied with MM. In fact, I was astonished by the quality and attention to detail. The wolfen vid was really reasonably priced. I am not saying that MM is nothing but gold. There are things weren\'t necessarily up to par. The cloth modules were somewhat disappointing, but that collection is worth it just for the face module. Again, I have received nothing but great service and accommodation. We are all constantly learning in order to improve and any video of this caliber is a phenomenal tool. I am certainly excited about the Kraken Alkemy vid, but it certainly does not take away from MM\'s products.

Has anyone done an in-depth reviews of these yet, any site like Dr. Faust or any other, I’d like to get more reviews, before I buy, also releases seemed to have dried up?

The Alan C. video is due out today actually and considering his quality of work, I would expect it to be a very good video. I will post a review once I watch it.

Can I ask where you get this info from? Their site hasn\'t been updated in months, and I haven\'t gotten any newsletters from them since March...
Is there a news source about them I don\'t know about? I gotta say, I\'m starting to wonder what\'s going on with this company. It only takes a couple of minutes to put an announcement about delays on their home page...

I got an email from them earlier this week. I don\'t remember the exact content, but the general gist was that the Alan C video was due very soon (this week) and the Jen Haley video was due in a few weeks. The email also indicated that the delays were due to shooting several videos in a shorter time period than expected, so that they haven\'t had the time to edit.

All news information has been submitted from emails. I\'ve gotten a few emails from them end up in the bulk/spam folder since they send it out to a lot of people, so if you haven\'t received anything, definitely check there and add them to your allowed email list.
