Well I don't know if there are any/many Windsor area gamers on here (besides WolfFang, who's not a local anymore) but I thought I would post this here.
The Windsor Gaming Resource (a website and forum dedicated to gaming in Windsor/Essex) is considering hosting a painting event. We are trying to figure out if enough people are interested to make this worth doing.
Hugin and Munin has offered us floor and table space and Eastern Front Studios has generously offerd to sponsor the event and provide some minis for all of us to paint. The thought it to get together for the early afternoon, sit around together, chat, paint and learn from each other. Experienced painters will be on hand to teach newcomers the basic as well as to share techniques with other experienced painters. This will definately be a casual event.
We've also talked about the potential for a less then serious painting competition. Awards/prizes would be range from the Silly to the serious and be given for things like Quickest Painter, most colours on one miniature, most unique and of course fan favourite.
There would be no cost to participate in the event and I'm pretty sure we can arrange to have enough paints and brushes for everyone who doesn't have their own.
So are any of you Windsor area Cmon'ers interested? Anyone from London, Kitchener or even Toronto interested in a day trip down south to pain?
