@frenchkid: I do the same, I always drink Earl Grey in the mornings (can\'t stand coffee, and Earl Grey is strong enough to have a wake-up effect on me).

@minimaker: I\'ve got Assam, too. But that\'s for emergencies -- as in, when Earl Grey stops working :) And I always have green tea and jasmine. For dinner, just like you :) And sometimes I switch to something special, like roibush or scented black tea or fruit tea.
Hmm. I need a cup of tea ... right now! :)

My God folks, it\'s all going out of control! Sha, I\'ll send me beans in the mail, one a day for the next year so that you can make a few cups! It\'ll be gone-off and rancid mind...

Margo, let\'s end this madness. We\'ve all proven we\'re cultured in Europe lol Oh, and the Virgin Mary is out this weekend; she\'s appearing in aubergines in South America as proof of her existence. I still think it would be easier to send a photograph.

Cheers all, and let\'s have a biscuit with our beverages (a whole new thread potentially).

Ah, you give biscuits with tea too? It\'s definitely a tradition over here. Candycookies are great with tea, chocolate ones go well with coffee, waffles go with everything, mmmm. Ugh, just realised I forgot to buy cookies today.

Oh my. I have a confession to make, then. I\'ve been cheating on Earl Grey with Green Tea today. Yes, that\'s the truth.

never had earl grey
 So what teas do you have at home? Or do you drink coffee?
and what are biscuts, like ritz crackers or cookies?
Cookies. In Dutch specifically the sweet dry type of cookies. These go very well with tea since they don\'t fall apart if you dip them in. See biscuits here:
http://www.verkade.nl/producten.asp

Ever had these? Most people who visit the Netherlands love them.

Becca you\'ve missed out.
Earl Grey I find too perfumed by the Bergamot, so I prefer Darjeeling. A much lighter flavour and colour. (I have to drink it fairly as a mild brew due to Crohn\'s disease/ Excess Stomach acid.)
I have found that the Commercial brands are such a mixture of different types of tea leaf that most just seem to be tasteless. However the worst in my opinion is the \"Yorkshire blend\" my parents use. And my dad will insist on \'mashing\' the teabag against the side of the cup. I\'ve used industrial paint stripper which was weaker than his tea. :D

As for the biscuits, (Cookies in the US) there are certain traditions which must be upheld. (or it will be the downfall of the Empire :p ) Biscuits with tea Must be \"Dunked\" and should conform to the following lines: either Rich Tea, Digestives, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Bourbon, KitKats, Penguins or Fox\'s Classic.

this is all so confusing...

@rev- you are a funny funny man.lol Reverend is truely one of the inspired comic genuises of CMON, Either that or he is Barking. :D

The GW 40K inquisitor Cortez has an eagle...if that might do. he\'s male.....and the eagle could look like an owl with some green stuff to buff it up

NONONONO! Chocolate cookies should go with coffee, not tea! :)

Only the special and local mixes I think. I\'m pretty sure I\'ve seen at least the traditional teas like Earl grey and Assam in US supermarkets. And you get Jasmin in any good Chinese restaurant.

If you are making tea to dunk biscuits in, it has to have milk (and sugar if you have it). Dunking biccies in black tea just doesnt work.

ESPRESSO!!!!!!

Earl Gray is for drinking with your \'pinky\' out, and from chine cups. which is just wrong!!!!

STRONG COFFEE!!!!*

But unless its piping hot Green tea, not the jasmin stuff which tastes like soap!

*Too much coffee can lead to unhinged behaviour and excessive shouting, but thats why I like it lol

Donga the caffeine terrorist.

Wibble jibber! Flup flup flup...

For the love of God, why did I mention biscuits? And tea?

Let\'s be fair everyone, in this world of Papal madness, my viewpoint is stronger and more important (not my opinion, but the opinion of millions of Catholics). Therefore what I\'m about to say now is the FINAL word! Tea=Assam/Kenyan. Biscuit=Chocolate Digestive (milk choc). The tea has 1/2 a sugar and a little milk. Preferably using a teapot.

If anyone wants a fight, I\'ll batter them with my Mitre...so come on!

I\'ll have to stay out of this one as no self-respecting barbarian would drink tea anyway. :D

Now, diet pop/soda (depending on where you are :) ) is another story - gotta keep the barbarian physique lean and mean lol

Which reminds me - American diet pop SUCKS compared to the Coke and Pepsi Light stuff I had in Sweden. Still no calories, but tasted so much better. Apparently we are behind in the artificial sweetener race!

Hmm, I seem to have engaged in a bit of hijacking there, sorry, carry on with the tea thing....

You\'ve been to Sweden? (Perhaps not very surprising since we\'re considered to be the original barbarians...)

And I thought OUR diet coke tasted crappy... ???
