Missing numbers on promo survivor experience trackers

It's already on GG's FB page, BGG, and the KS comments, but I thought I would bring it up here as well, so that we can all let GG and CMON know that this is not alright.

If you don't already know, all of the promo survivors coming in Wave 2 have no numbers on their character sheets. GG has said that this is only a aesthetic issue and no replacement cards will be issued. The following reasons have been cited (so far) as to why this is not acceptable.

1) The white lines are difficult to see, especially for old eyes.
2) Color-blindness is an issue.
3) It's very inconvenient when swapping from survivor to zombivor.

Upset? Make your voice heard!

I saw this yesterday, and I have to say that I am very disappointed. While I could easily write the numbers in myself, I should not have to. It is not what I was promised when I funded the project and paid for those survivors. If it were a retail product, they would most certainly replace the defective product. Do project backers not deserve the same level of customer service? If they choose to go the Kickstarter route for the next expansion (and don't even get me started on that), I can honestly say that I will definitely not back at as high of a level as I did Season 2 if at all.

That's disappointing to hear. Having to fix the cards oneself, feeling a comparison to Finecast coming on. :s

I'm fine with the solution that they have provided. I'll mark my cards with a Sharpie marker every 5 lines to make it easier to track. That is until I get my new cards with S3. A minor inconvenience, really. Let GG and CMON wrap up S2 so that they can get to delivering on their other projects.

Make sure the numbers go in the spaces. A guy on Facebook posted his fix, but he put the numbers over the lines, so his board went up to 44 instead of 43.

I've simply been putting another character card behind the un-numbered ones and using that one's experience tracker. All that pokes out from the card in the back is the experience tracker and its numbers... Works perfectly fine, and there's no need to draw on anything, or to try to puzzle out where each space is.

That said, since I never got Ivy, Claudia or Eva from the first Kickstarter, I'd be more than happy to get official cards for them to use. Easy enough to make proxies :good:

I think it is disapointing that they failed to notice this in the QA process and frankly its something to big that the QA person ought to lose his job over it.

I am even more disapointed that CMON demands people sponsor their Season3 Kickstarter if they want to have the cards replaced. As a customer i should be entitled to a replacement of a defect product without buying something new.

That "card behind the other" solution sounds so elegantly simple it reminds me of the pen issue in the space race. The US spending loads to develop a pen that'd write upside down, the Russians deciding to use a pencil.

Its a ok solution in a pinch, but CMONs way to try and force poeple into backing S3 by holding defective card replacement as ransom is horrible.

It looks like they and GG are looking into how they can make them available to anyone that backed S2 but doesn't want to back S3.

My guess will be that they'll say something like "if you back at $1 and were an S2 backer then we'll send you the replacement dashboards for free".

Can anyone come up with any comparable example of a misprint like this where the company actually fixed it? By comparable, I mean that they actually created a fixed item where no such fixed item yet existed and then sent it out to every person who had ever purchased the game.

I think of the original edition of Betrayal at House on the Hill where (among a mountain of other misprints) they had a room in the house called the Sunken Lake that could be placed in the attic of the house. This (among a mountain of other things) was eventually fixed in the 2nd edition (which I had to purchase at full price), but you couldn't get a fixed version of the card because there WASN'T ONE.

@Captain Awesome - Are you really complaining about spending $1 to get a fixed item? That probably doesn't even cover shipping. Besides, everyone is getting a $10 credit, so as long as that option is $10 or less, you still won't have to actually pay anything.

Yup. I shouldn't have to back it all just to get the product I was promised from the previous Kickstarter. It is the same level of customer service I expect from every company I buy things from. If I buy a miniature from a company like Privateer Press and it is missing pieces, I am not going to pay them to replace it. Sure, you can say it is different because the survivors are still playable without the numbers on the character sheet, but that does not matter. The numbers are supposed to be there. They are part of the product I expected when I payed the money for the extra survivors. While the money is admittedly an extremely small amount, it is a matter of principle. I should not have to give them another dime to get the product I was promised when I gave them the original investment. Imagine these models were a retail release. Would you think it was silly for someone who bought them at retail to expect the defective item be replaced? Why do we, the backers, not deserve the same level of customer service?
