Mistaken Identity

Ok I was just thinking about this and I had to ask who else has experienced this. Have you ever been in a long painting session (hours) then stopped to take a brake... you get up and walk around and head to the frig to get a drink and then bring it back with you to drink while you paint... you continue painting and then you have the urge to take another sip of your wonderfully refreshing beverage... you take a real big swig and notice the your drink tastes an aweful lot like YOUR PAINT WATER CUP CONTENTS?

Just wondering if anyone else has been fooled by this mistaken identity. lol

I\'ve certainly learnt not to put my tasty beverage in the same kind of glass as my paint water...

My problem was that I put my drink next to my paint water... Also I have accidently thought my drink was my paint cup and used my drink to clean my brush :yes:

I haven\'t mixed up the paint and drinks yet, but there was a time (Okay... a few times...) that I mixed up my tobacco spit cup with my beverage.

I took a swig of something that tasted a lot like my paint water cup contents... unfortunately I wasn\'t painting at the time.... I was in a pub.

Cloudy cider is bloody luvverly but I hate it when it gets to the end of the barrel :|~

never drunk my painting water (get my fix from licking the brush!!) but i have tried to wash my brush in my coffee a few times

warm drinks are worse.. put a cup of tea on the table and you will always put your brush in it almost without fail....I\'m sure the steam from the beverage acts as a natural guide for the body to a source of moisture....???

My worst little habit at the moment is a laziness issue more than anything.. rather than put the mini or brush down I\'m using to open a paint pot two handed I lift the bugger off with my teeth and the number of times my teeth catch the inside o the lid and pull all the paint into my gums still doesn\'t stop me....:no:

I was reading through this thread thinking that I\'d post my hot tea mishaps. Sounds like I\'m not the only one. I\'m sure I\'ve killed months of brush-life with good fresh mug of hot tea. =(

PS: The coffee for gravy mix up is actually pretty darned funny. Hehe...

Not drank the paint water as my paint water is a big bucket like thing with brush hooks, but I have cleaned my brush in my beverage..

I also have a bad habit of brush licking so I have gone out with paint on my lips and or tongue.

I use this tiny cup with a lid for my brush water, as it keeps the cat from drinking the water. But when i smoked i use to always drop my butt into the can of soda i was drinking then take a drink. ugh....

I\'ve drank the paint water several times. I wash my brush in my drink more often than that though. I find it particularly annoying when it\'s a drink that has ice in it, because then the brush gets all smashed from pressing on an ice cube. lol

I\'ve also gone to lick the brush when there\'s a load full of paint still on it. It\'s the worst when it\'s Foundation paint, those taste awful!

I drank paint water once on purpose. We had a party in college and we were drinking and painting on big sheets of newsprint with those kids\' water paints that come in solid \"hockey puck\" form. I drank the water for LOLs... it tasted pretty bad but I wasn\'t harmed in any way

Had a couple experiences like that in high school art class. I got $10 to eat a brush full of acrylic (1/2 inch brush, loaded with some kind of magenta color) lol Nearly gagged.

Couple days later in the same class one guy decided to drink a whole glass of paint water. It looked like orange juice.
