Mithril Miniatures
New member
Mithril Miniatures is moving away from traditional sculpting materials like Modelling clay in favour of digital design using Zbrush and 3D printing the resulting master figures. These then will in turn be turned into master moulds for casting metal miniatures for public sale. This is quite a significant change for a small miniature company that has operated for more than a quarter of a century producing many hundreds of characters from J.R.R Tolkien's books The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
These new figures will also have a new set of product letters before the numbers to mark the occasion. The original 'MS' release, which was used to indicate the long running Fellowship series, will be retired in favour of the 'MZ' series. The Z is to acknowledge the use of Zbrush in their design. Other ranges will not have any changes in their codes however.
Here is three samples of the new range, yet to be released in metal. What do you think?
MZ626 Ohtar™ with the shards of Narsil™.
MZ627 Easterling™ Champion.
