I usually use a two part epoxy resin available at most hardware stores. No matter if you stir it together, or \"fold\" it together, you will always have at least some air bubbles.
As far as how long to leave the foodsaver vacuum machine on, it will go until there is no air left in the canister. Sometimes a few seconds, at times I have had it take up to 2, to 3 minutes. Heat buildup can be a problem, but only after a longer time period in vacuum mode. To avoid this, just vacuum it once, let it cool down, then vacuum it again. Unless the resin is quick set ( less than 1/2 hour cure time) you should have enough working time.
Coloring: you can use a tiny amount, I mean like a drop or two of ink in whatever shade you wish. Just DO NOT ADD any dry retardents, thinners, glazes,etc...90 % of the time, these will have a bad reaction to the resin, and muck up the finished product. Hope all this helps

Just remember to try it out on a few small projects first so you dont destroy all of your hard work right off the get go! Good luck! Peace!
