Mjolnir 2006 - Another barbaric Ogre!

Hi guys!

I have just posted my most recent mini - the new Mjolnir by Hasslefree miniatures! I have painted and based him to match Wolf the barbarian to give them a unified look. He is painted in vallejo and GW paints in NMM, Dull Coted and then had his mouth and any gems gloss varnished with \'Ardcoat.

His trousers were inspired by the Butcher from the film Gangs of New York (Daniel Day Lewis\' character?) as in one scene he is wearing a black and green stripey pair! The gems havent photographed as well as they did in my first mjolnir, but I am pleased with the result.

the shield is wow,you thought of doing a guide for him

Ogre goodness....

Woohoo!! He\'s finished and he looks absolutely stunning. I loved the first Mjollnir so much and didn\'t think you\'d be able to do this special edition version as well as him. But how wrong can a person be!

He\'s fantastic and having seen him in the flesh, I know that the pics only tell half the story! Nice one hon :D

Absolutely fantastic paint job. My only gripe is its too neat for an ogre. Love every thing about it.

Excellent paint job Peter. I only have one critic to make, I think the gold could have used more contrast. It\'s strange because the steel looks better for the contrast.

I think you are probably right Cedric... I was having problems with the gold this time - I changed my recipe and I prefer the colour, but now need to work out how to shade it more convincingly. The star on the shield was particularly difficult to shade as the angle he is holding the shield at made it seem like it should be all quite bright... arrrgh! the problems of NMM ;)

Oh my these are definately impressive.

I have seen these quite a few times, while moderating comments, but didn\'t know who the artist was until just now.....excellent.

The painting is stellar but the bases are what I really love. The way they \'spill\' over onto the decorative base is great, and these two do indeed make an awesome pair.

Its amazing how high you keep setting the bar, and how you manage to top each new work. Very well done Peter!

Excellent work, Peter. Mjolnir is absolutely brilliant and it\'s nice to see old Wolfey again (might have to redo him now with helmet and \'mail).

Really is the dog\'s bollocks Peter.

I saw the first Mjolnir up close at Edinburgh and was blown away. By far the best in the cabinet.
I think this one looks even better. Everything is perfect. Skin is the best Ive seen and the cleanliness suits your painting style with these. Dirtying them up would spoil the neat paintjob I think.

Dont make us wait a year for the next one.;)
