Model Quality / Scales

So I'm building a skeletal/zombie army.
Basically I've never strayed from the Games Workshop shelf line however the GW skeletons are quite samey and I wanted to mix it up with some other bits for my conversions.
Since I've never bought from any other lines, I have no idea of quality or the scale.

I've been looking at the Mantic Skeletons as there very cheap in comparison and you seem to get loads of them. However they seem a little bit smaller in scale and have weird bases.
Anyone got any knowledge on this to help me out?

I've also been looking at the reaper minis which seem to be a bit more the same sort of scale but its very hard to tell from a picture.

Also what are the quality of these minis like? Are they the same as GW or better?

Any suggestions from experience, I would be most appreciative.

I have some Orx Marauders and they are a little bigger, sort of more stocky than anything but scale wise they fit in with the GW 40K Orks. The skeletons are about the same size maybe a tiny bit bigger/taller, but Mantic minis can be used to supplement GW minis.
