Mods Done By The Polish Teams

Hey All,
A simple question..... does anyone know how the Polish artists are doing their mods to the GW figs. It looks like green stuff but the writing and lines look like some kind of stamp. Any help out there?!

There are allready some posts on it.
The best is to ask Scibor himself, or take a look at his last minis, comments with explainations are joined.

Mods.....

Thanks for the info......but they do not reply. Even thoughI am purchasing something from them. I tried looking under the digital milling info under Google but I know I am too inexperienced to know what I am looking at!!!! I just want to make some armor pads like theirs for my Grey Knights.

IIUC...

...what Scibor is doing is having molds CNC tooled according to a 3d rendering, then pressmolding the various pieces in greenstuff.

There\'ve been a couple of threads here on CMoN on the subject, but no hard info on tooling companies or prices.

Here\'s a link to the most recent thread:

CAD and digital milling for conversions

There is another way to make it but not so precise. Use miliput as a base, make some flat surface out of it then cut the form and press GS onto it.

Defeats the whole point of 3D/CNC modelling -- drawing a part in a 3D rendering program and having a mold produced as an exact copy of the drawing. Computer skills are in the high seat here, not sculpting skills.

You guys are the best! I am not sure what all the abbreviations used in the post are... but I get the general thought. Who would you go to see to make such a mold???!!!

It\'s not massively expensive, in Poland at least. If you find a company with the gear and you supply the correct renders, it aint going to take them long to knock up a mould.

Ah, but where to go in Poland?lol

Scibor quotes a price of 10 to 30 USD for a small piece at a local shop (in one of the threads linked in one of Spacemunkie\'s ealier posts in this thread), but Scibor conveniently neglects to post a link or address to said shop.

the idea is good, but people are paying stupid prices for the minis.... like 150-300 for them is stupid.... there not that amazing. id much rather spend my money on a much better cleaner hand done sculpt. the method works well for cloaks, but the leg plates look naff, there jsut stuck on with huge gaps at the back.... looks silly, same with some of the shoulders. he has some good talent at sculpting free hand, but the application of the pressed stuff leaves alot too be desired.

ive also had a look thought his gallery.... all 27 pages nerly all full of auctions... the guy must be loaded. hes sold thousands and thousands of dollars worth of these mini\'s. have to admire him for it. making a good buisness out of a hobby :)

That perfectly hits the nail on the head for me. Good on him.

ditto to taht. Crazy prices? Obviously not to the people who paid them. Let the market decide what a fair price is.

i have to say i like some of the chunky aspect to his work. but alot of it goes too far. i would also like to say fair play to him. i wouldn\'t pay that sort of money but someone obviously it. i just wish he\'d sculpt some more of his own stuff as i feel it is far superior. i guess it doesn\'t make as much money though for the time it takes

I must say that I was originally a fan of scibor\'s press molds - about a year ago. Then I grew to hate them with a passion.

Those sculpts are a different kettle of fish entirely though. Lovely stuff.

That\'s a cheeky little servitor. The arms and their positioning are excellent.
I guess thanks on that design must be given to Mark Gibbon\'s Fabius Bile illustration from the Warhammer 40000 second edition Chaos Codex ...
