Mold lines in the hair line

How do you like to deal with this problem, especially when the mold line runs across the 'grain' of the hair. Got one right in the middle of a privateer press sculpt and it is driving me batty. Think I really need to work on my sculpting skills and just nuke it from orbit... it's the only way to be sure.

A new No.11 blade, a steady hand and a light touch. Scrape in one direction only, be gentle, it may take more than one pass to remove the line. Its a pest but only real way to remove such things.

Scraping along the direction of the hair is one of the ways to deal with this kind of thing (God they are annoying aren't they?) but I think it works better to pare down the convex portions first, then tackle the grooves with a knife, scraping tool, needle file* or whatever.

IME sometimes you do have to sacrifice the detail to get a mould line to disappear, and then go back in and re-establish the texture either by carving and filing or by re-sculpting with putty.

*One of the few jobs that a triangular file seems to be suited for, although a half-round or this shape () can be ideal too.

I cut a tiny square of sandpaper (2mm x 2mm) and glue it to the end of a toothpick. It works wonders for getting into areas you can't normally sand and smooth.
