For casting GS on GS mold or plaster of paris on GS mold, can I use cooking oil or cornstarch mold release?

Thanks!

You shouldn\'t need to use either of those nasty substances in either case. Try talcum powder for GS on GS - just a light dusting of your mould with a brush.

Plaster of paris should release really easily without any mould release agent.

What are you casting? If you\'re making press moulds, have you considered heating up sprue and pushing that into your GS mould? Works great for all sorts of small bolts, crests and purity seal type things.
