Monitor setting and configuration

It just ocurred to me, What settings do you use for your monitor when browsing the images on this site?.

Most of the monitors come now with preset configs for viewing images or video/games, and others for \"productivity\" software (word processors, spreadsheets, etc.).

I didn\'t realize that sometimes the vote a mini get can be affected by an incorrect display config (too dark or too light), until I began looking at the pics here while at work. So, What\'s your display setting?

I don\'t touch my color control panel for the life of me, but even then I could tell one color from another and the smoothness and presentation seem to be a big deciding factor. But I do think that some of the darker/lighter pics have been influenxed by bad computer screens. Also the fact that the artist knows what they did and can pick it out no almost not matter how dark the picture is. If they wanted to see how it looks to someone else, maybe feedback from a friend would help.

Well, my monitor is a pretty good one (was one of those $700 19\" ones about 2 years ago) and it\'s pretty much been on the same settings the whole time. Brightness 60%, Contrast 100%, and the 9300K color temperature thingy that I don\'t know what it\'s talking about ;)

The only other computer I\'ve ever used to check this site is the neighbour\'s, which is a god-awful old 15\" that doesn\'t support 16-bit color properly. Not a very good situation... there are pics on that monitor that I\'d give a 5 until I realise that on any other screen they\'re about an 8.5 or more. It\'s really that bad lol
