Monster Pots

Ummm...I have to ask. The 'Monster Pots' on the main page...are they actual bottles, or are they just made to LOOK like such? In other words, will they hold paint, and if so, how much?

*sigh* Ok, and here I was, hoping they'd be able to hold some paint, at least. Be kinda neat to have at least SOME bottles that looked utterly different. Ah, well.

Good idea for a product? Anyone actually want something like this? Obviously if it's flexible enough it won't really be able to be painted. Maybe the eyeballs.

edit: anyone want something like this EXCEPT the OP?

Oh, I would be fun, to have one or two these bottles to have as miximg pots. But the question is also, how many would a such bottle cost in the end?

It would be fun indeed. I had just assumed that those bottles were actual bottles so hearing that they weren't was a bit of a disappointment.

I was about to say...:)

And in general, be interesting if one could make a 'sleeve' or something, maybe? That the bottle could fit into, that is. Me, I can't make that, but there are highly skilled sculptors here...

sleeve does indeed seem to be the way to go rather than a blank mixing pot, covering the different bottles with a few generic designs seems the simplest and increases the utility and saleability of the theorised product

sounds like a cool idea, I'd suggest a pressure cast semi rigid polyurethane if anyone wants to make them, they'll allow them to be painted but should flex enough to squeeze the bottle.

Ok....since I started this thread, and since I came up with the sleeve idea...*IF* this is realized, I 'demand' that there be at least one sleeze called 'DannyBoy'.

(and since I have utterly NO way to enforce such a demand, I hope it is obvious that I'm not serious)

Glad this was asked. I wasn't sure about those bottles either. I figured they were as apparently they are, but the bottles being so well done I thought there was a chance they could have been sleeves.

I keep my paints stored unless they're in use, so a sleeved paint pot wouldn't appeal to me. Wouldn't see it often enough.

Though a sleeve for a water pot would be groovy, they're always out. I plumped for the GW water pots when restocking my painting area, but doubt their use is commonplace enough to make those dimensions a worthwhile venture. Perhaps a gently curved plate one could stick onto a waterpot, that could be bent somewhat to fit different sizes.
