Morally speaking, is stepping on ants and killing the odd wasp wrong? It\'s the CMON poll!

You know the red and orange ants that really sting? If you stand on one on purpose to kill it, will you be doing something wrong? Or do you think that mankind has dominion over the animals? Are you a buddhist who has gone so far that you dare not step on an insect at all?

Wasps are stupid. They fly around your face and get right on your tits. They sting for the silliest of reasons. Do you take an aggressive attack on them to be the best form of defence? When they bumble around in the window, do you pre-empt their evil streak and smear them all over the glass?

I don\'t generally kill bugs on purpose (unless they\'re asking for it...), but I don\'t bother looking if there are any ants or such where I\'m putting down my foot or anything. I guess that means I don\'t give a shite!

When you say wasps and ants I assume you mean the filth that is human life?! If so I\'m all for it. Let\'s go for total war and destroy everything. Complete degradation and loss of all humanity. Every man, woman, and child set against one another in a bloody battle to the end. No need for food or arms production as we can eat the dead and kill with our bare hands. The only rule of this war is that nothing should remain. All must be destroyed, including ones self!

It depends on the bug.

Things that harm us intentionally, like mosquitos or ticks, should be destroyed every chance we get. Most other insects I don\'t go out of the way to kill, but if it happens by accident oh well. I\'ll even try to shoe a bee out a window a few times before I resort to smooshing it. Spiders, on the other hand, I nurture. I won\'t kill them even in my own home. Why? Because the keep the rest of the insect population down without me having to worry if it\'s morally Okay to swat an annoying *#$%ing fly!

Then again, Spiders are arachnids and not insects...

Are any animals capable of evil? A shark takes off a persons leg because it is hungry, but that doesn\'t make it evil. So if animals Can\'t be evil, then is it ever morally correct to kill them? Unless it\'s a matter of self preservation, of course.

You know, I\'m half tempted to take this question (not the poll) seriously; What really is a moral \"wrong?\" Is that really the opposite of a moral \"right\" and what is a moral right anyway? I could babble on this for hours, but hey we all know that\'s not what the Reverend wants, and I\'m just to good and nice not to dissapoint the Reverend.

(I\'m the type of person who decided to re-read Aristotle\'s Art of Rhetoric on the plane trip to and from Gen Con. Read book 1 on the way there and book 2 on the way back. Why? Because it was a nice small book I could hold in my hand while my carry on luggage was in the overhead compartment. And with the greek on the one side I flipped through it twice as fast as a regular book.)

So I guess I will talk about the odd wasp. Why is the wasp odd? Is it simply a problem of being in the wrong place when the counting occured? Or is his oddness some sort of strange mutation that really should be eliminated ASAP? Is this really a veiled discrimination against a certain combination of ethnic and racial traits?

I never would kill anything on purpose. Not even Anthropodes. Even if I\'m afraid of them or if they go totally on my nervs. I just can\'t kill them, I find it wrong. It would be the same as to kill a bird or bunny or something. Why should some animals be worth more than others?

Maybe because they have a greater ability to feel pain and to understand what\'s going on.

Having said that, I don\'t have a problem with killing other things either.
