It\'s been a while since I\'ve added to these ideas.... this time, it\'s mixing pots.

GW sells their empty bottles, and then there\'s palettes that can be bought at fairly moderate prices... but here\'s another of my silly but cheap things I do...

Tea candles. A hundred for a dollar in a dollar store, and they come in those little foil \'cups\'.

Two choices, burn the candles and then use them, or, like me, take the candles out of the foil, and do your blending in the foil cups. You only need a couple of the cups to keep putting the candles in for when you want candle-light, anyway, right?

Anyway, that\'s my latest bit of \'cheap painting implements\' for everyone to snicker at or use as they see fit.

And they are probably thin enough to cut up and use on bases, banners etc

That\'s true. They are quite thin... and actually, now that you mention it, they do hold paint quite well... I\'ve got a few that I didn\'t rinse out after blending, and it\'s stuck solidly, even though I\'ve tried flexing and bending the things to peel it.

And paint stripper doesn\'t melt them like it does plastic... or bathroom sinks... don\'t ask.

Maybe thats why the other stuff is done on a budget, to replace the sink

Naukhel, I have found that white bathroom tiles are very cheap (less than a buck) and can be used over and over... A bit of warm soapy water and the paint comes right off of them.

For all our French readers, I\'ve found an Escargot bowl is great for mixing! (I don\'t know why we have such a thing, but the parents were going to throw out a perfectly good peice of ceramic with small spaces!)

... for mixing pot i just mix it on my pallet... if i think il\'l need it later il\'l mix it in an empty pot.... or if i have a little of 1 of the colours i need to make it il\'l mix it in there lol

I find the lids of Nescafe jars make are really good, especially for bulk colours like base coats. And there\'s a chain of local curry houses that deliver in plastic boxes with snap top lids. They need a good wash, but they make great palettes. :]
