Painted for my own personal collection. What a wonderful model! I enjoyed it very much.

I am open for some critiques on my painting, as I feel it's the only way to grow, and get better. I plan on having a good showing at Baltimore GD this year, and I want to take my painting to a higher level.
Thanks!

Very nice indeed. Care describing the colors, process or whatever you used fo rht eblonde hair? It's very well done. As is the face for sure. Nice. I 9'd it.

I paint my thumb.
I think the blues could have used a little extra something, but the rest is ace.
I'd also be happy to have details on the blonde hair, it's *really* nice :)

for what scott? is this some sort of crazy canadian street slang? btw this is how most of my typing turns out, it takes me double the time to move the letters into the right positions when typing!

GAH! It's supposed to be "For the blonde hair". Yikes!

Sorry this took so long to respond, just got a new computer and have been hammering out some issues with the BSOD, which I have finally gotten past! yay for new technology...

Anyways the hair I first painted the dark tones, which consisted of P3 Rucksack Tan and P3 Battlefield brown, shaded down with Devlan Mud and Badab Black thinned washes in the darker areas, then blended up to the lighter areas with the midtone. I then mixed up a lighter shade of the Tan, leaving some battlefield brown in the mix so its not quite the full tan color. I used this mix for the basecoat of all the strands of hair, grandually getting lighter and lighter by adding in bleached bone. Finally before I quite reached pure bleached bone I added some white, for the final highlights on the strands of hair. I then threw a couple very very thin glazes of the original strand color to add more tone, then re-highlighted. Hope that makes some kind of sense! ;)

Next time I paint some robes, I will try a bit more contrast added in. I am always a bit cautious when highlighting garments as I don't want them to be overshaded and lose a more realistic feel. But this one I do have to admit looking at it now, came out a bit dull ><

@Einion - Are you talking lighting shines from my poor lighting setup? ...when taking pictures, I always have to use my painting lamp, and put it pretty close, but it adds reflectiveness to the mini pics which I really don't care for. hmmmm any thoughts?

Thanks for the comments! Much appreciated! Again sorry for the delayed response~~
