Before talking about your painting, here are a few things I think that could generate more interest into your minis :

*) Don\'t post blurry pics (the vehicle ones and the first Cadian ones are OK);
*) Take the time to remove mold lines;
*) Drill or paint the gun and exhaust holes.

For the painting side :

*) Judging from the banner of the Space Marine Captain, I think you need to thin your paints, particularly the white. I\'d also shade it with a light grey;
*) Though your yellows look OK on the marines, I think they could use a bit more contrast and some localised deeper shadows (around the eyes of the eagles for example);
*) Similarly, the red cape could use deeper shadows. Try mixing some purple;
*) The vehicle looks cleener/smoother than your foot troupers. The next step would be to highlight it a bit more and, if you judge necessary, to add some mud, dust, oil marks, or scraped paint effects;
*) I think it\'s a bit early to say something on the Cadians, but the difference in color between their uniform and the color of the ground is too strong. But maybe that\'s what you want. I\'d keep the desert and red colors and replace the green grass (?) by desert, earth, or grey gravel. Something more neutral.

Thanks

Thanks Greenstuff,
I know the pictures are not that good, and I guess they dont really do the minis justice, but we live and learn. Thanks for the tips I will be trying them out real soon.

thanks

Thanks

Thankyou everyone who got in contact with me. I know the photos were not gret quality and I am sure if I was able to get good or even decent phots of the minis they would look a bit better. I am currently painting some new bits to go with the army and I have been trying to do as you advised, I will post them when they are completed.

Once again thankyou everyone

One of the straight-up easiest way to make a mini look much more dynamic and exciting is to base them well.

The bases you have look very odd and dull because they\'re jus flat nd painted. Try basign with some sand and drybrushing to make it look like ground-cover. You might also try flock or static grass, both are really easy ways to make your bases more lively.

I agree you need to thin your paints. I think you also need to rethink your colour schemes. The contrasts are too strong, and the models lack any cohesion. They look like 2 to 5 colours just slapped together. Try to pick a scheme that ties the mini together instead of breaking it into seperate parts. It probably doesn\'t help that I can\'t see any shading, but the pictures are hard to visualize.
