Mortifactors Chaplin Astador WIP

Hey guys, wasn\'t going to post till finish but thought it might turn out better if I got advice as I went along. So here he is, my chaplin that will lead my Mortifactors!

I took quite a large photo to show detail but will admit it looks better viewed from a little farther away

I\'m happy enough with the highlighting on the armour, so just the metalics, scroll and bones to do, and touch up the base too.

nice so far, but you should give the black highlights a wash or two of watered down chaos black, it will make the black look much better

I\'m liking the smoothness of those highlights - I don\'t think they need to be darkened much - if at all.

Look forward to watching this

EDIT: That blood IS too bright though

Thanks I\'ll darken down the blood with some mecrite red and some chestnut ink. I\'m not sure now wheter to touch the highlights.........

I might also add a little ardcoat to the blood to give it a moist shimmer.


Also has anyone any tips for the cloth, I\'m doing the bone, dehneb stone, bleached bone and skull white and I have a base of dehneb stone on the cloth but need it to be different from the bone. Any suggestions?

Any of your browns would do really - snakebite, kommando khaki, graveyard earth - they\'ll all do a decent cloth base.

Got a desk lamp so will work on the fine detail of the rib cage tonight hopefully and the shoulder pads. May get some cloth work done too.

Ok so here\'s an update. I put on some komando kaki and bleached bone onto the cloth and then I finished one shoulder pad\'s bone, the bone on a hand and the bone crozius.

Improving the base

So the model is coming along nicely and I\'ll be finishing the base soon, all i was going to do was add some static grass and some razor wire, any other ideas? The grass is going to go on kind of patchy.
