Mother of Pearl

Hi guys

I tried to do a mother of pearl effect tonight, with \'mixed\' success lol

have you ever tried it? how did you do it?


I did:

1) bleached bone

2) highlights

3) 3 weak washes, blue, green, purple:

Its a super zoomed pic so its quite unflattering :no: but i\'d appreciate ur thoughts...

hard to see from pic..
I\'ve tried it several times and found using a bit of vallejo metallic medium in the colours helped.
there is another thread somewhere that had quite a few ideas from people on this have tried to have a look but couldn\'t find it.

It is very hard and doesn\'t look that convincing in the end, especially on small objects.
