mounting concern

1. Anyone know a company that makes mounts that actually look like they are moving? GW, has some decent wolves, but they are trotting, at best. Their horses are also nice, but they look like their walking. I\'m looking for some mounts that look a little more active. Dragon Rune, when it existed, has some sweet wolves. They were in a jumping stance. And Reaper makes a great boar, but it is standing still. So, do you know of any company that makes any mountable beast that appears to actually be charging?

ps Am I the only one who thinks GW boars look horrible? They don\'t even attempt to hide the line between the head and the body and the boars are just standing there!

Come back Dragonrune!!!

You are quite right. There is a dearth of realistic looking mounts out there. The Dragonrune stuff was fantastic, but they folded. God knows why, some o fthe best goblinoids I have seen.
This probably wont help, but I-Kore do some nice lizard mounts both in their VOID and Celtos range.

There is also a reaper model of a bear and dwarf rider where the bear is rearing up on his hind legs.

or theres the old skink cold ones..

BTW I don\'t like GW\'s wolves, they don\'t look very nice at all. The only ones that do look nice were the ones that came with Logan Grimnar- Frekkie and Gerri they are available from mail order I think.

You could try Reaper\'s hell hounds too..

not quite sure, but I think GW\'s LotR range contains some dynamic charging (or at least moving) horses. Take a look, and you might get lucky.

sad dragonrune...

yea, that\'s so sad. I placed an order only to realise that they had closed down. They will definitely be missed.

As for \"action\" mounts, there\'s those from LoTR of GW and corvus belli.

yeah the gw lotr mounts look really good. i thought they looked smaller. wanted to try one but haven\'t got around to it yet. you can always use the two dynamic halves of the gw horses. then they look like they are running but they will all look the same and (i dont know much about realistic horse movement) they probably arent realistic

Dragonrune\'s lines have been acquired by the Tin Dictator and should be rereleased in the fall or winter. See DragonRune for details.

If you are interested in large cats as mounts you might be interested in checking out Maidenhead\'s sabertooths. Pictures are available at Drew Williams\' site in the gallery. See barbsketch1 and 2.

That really is excellent news. Perhaps I will be able to complete my collection after all:bouncy:

More life to horse figures

..........As someone who has owned and ridden horses for over 25 years, I would like to see a more varied range of movement, other then the static standing, walking, trotting in a straight line figures. Believe it or not horses can bend, twist and just about make a pretzel of themself’s.
..........I would love to see some slamming on the breaks, head down, front legs out, hindquarters hunkering down or rearing and twisting to the side, more animated positions.
