Mouslings - Adventure on the High Seas

I posted this on the Reaper forums, but wanted to share it here as well. This is a piece I'm donating to a charity auction to support the Children's Trust Fund of Oregon. You can read about this non profit on their website...

A great organization, and I've had the opportunity to do a piece for them for the past three years. This year's entry is by far my favorite, as I moved away from the traditional artsy pumpkin, and fully embraced my love for miniatures and gaming. When I saw the Mousling Heroes boxed set from Reaper, I immediately fell in love, and knew they'd be a perfect fit for a pumpkin themed piece. Funkin donates several of their styrene pumpkins and artists are given them to turn into works of art for the auction.

Below are some photos of my piece. First, the mouslings that populate this ill fated adventure...

I freely admit to being a bit of a novice still when it comes to painting minis. I enjoy these miniatures quite a bit, and I think they work quite well for the scene. Next up, a couple of shots of the over all diorama...

My personal favorite -the "high drama" angle...

And finally, a couple of shots of the entangled smaller ship with the large tentacle...

Please pardon all the dead grass, I'm not a fan of lawn maintenance. :)

Hope you folks enjoy the pictures, I'm not sure of the best way to submit a diorama as an entry in the main gallery.
