Moving from childhood to adulthood

A friend\'s response to my question \"Wouldn\'t life be better if we were all children?\":

\"I was forced to wear crimpelene trousers which were useless in climbing trees or barbed wire fences, or for that matter setting fire to the mountain! That said, I don\'t think I ever grew up. I just acquired a more quality trouser...\"

Very rarely does something make me laugh and think quite so much, but what a way to describe \"growing up\". My mucker was down this weekend, so this was sat in my mind. We were, indeed, like two kids with a more quality trouser over the duration of his stay :D

I now what you mean when me and my mates get together were like big kids. We go walking in the woods (general prating about), riding bikes and get lots of bumps and brusing. O and def better trousers lol

Not quite legwear, but now-a-days, I get to choose my footwear. No-one, but no-one, is ever going to force me to wear sandals ever again. Detestable bloody things. I realised one day that I no longer had to eat the brussel sprouts that my father forced down my throat as a kid, \"You will eat what is put in front of you!\" Now, I love the foods that he never did.

That\'s the difference between now and then: who gets to make the choices. I get to make up my own somewhat-educated mind up about things.

My sister-in-law taught me a lesson some time ago. She vowed that she\'d never make her children eat beetroot (which I love). She hated it, because; as a kid, she had it and it turned her mash pink. And I thought to myself: can\'t the kids decide whether they like beetroot or not? Do the kids always have to inherit the likes and dislikes of the parents? Hell, no.

I was insanely lucky! For by the age of 10 I had discovered Kevlar.
I think my parents thought it best since most of the aforementioned activities were rather high on my agenda you see.

I have to admit, A really good Belch or fart still gets me rolling about. I still find flicking bogys\' at mates hilarious too.

I work For your Govt. btw lol

In the leg-wear category, I\'ve been fairly consistant throughout my life.
Jeans or cargo pants.

In my behaviour... that\'s subject to debate.

I\'m a gamer geek. How grown up can I possibly get?

Same here except bare feet whenever I can get away with it, even at work under the desk!

I paint toy soldiers, I wear stupid t-shirts and jeans and nikes, I watch anime and sci-fi and horror movies, I prefere sitting on the floor than on a chair and I\'m exited when I hear sentences like: \"Derek Jacobi is going to play a mysterious character in Dr Who and he is the key to many things!\" and when my husband is away on business I sleep with the dog in my arms (the dog being not \"in\" the bed).
Some say I\'m an adult, I don\'t see why!

ps: ** wiccanpony** No: Lizcam is not your sister abducted by alien gypsies... I am! and if you saw me you\'d thanks them for it

EXACTLY! I have to wear slacks and shirt to work, but it\'s shorts and t-shirts when I get home! I wear goofy t-shirts with squirrels, Calvin and Hobbes, etc. on them.

Growing old does not mean you have to grow up!lol

Thats only because you spend far too much time on here, and noone on here is grown up.

I wear only jeans, or short shorts, and its either steel toes or bare feet, there is no inbetween.
