Long time lurker on the boards here, and thought seeing as how I need a bit of motivation to paint my mini's, i'd start up a WIP thread of all the different things i'm working on. For the past ten years now, all i've really done is Airfix and Games Workshop (Across all game systems). I recently decided that seeing all the lovely minis out there from other sellers, I'd start branching out. So far i've managed to get some Reaper Chronosphere models (Afterburn, and I forget what the woman model I have is called), and also just recently bought a box of Wyrd models, Malifaux's Veronica's set. Lovely models so far, didn't really take much to get them ready for the primer. First up though, i'm working on a Dark Elf Dreadlord's Black Dragon for my local GW store painting competition. Seeing as how i'm a High Elf player and I don't collect Dark Elves.....yet.......I decided to use t his gorgeous model as my Archmage's Dragon. So without further ado onto the pics:-
I know it looks a little sloppy and the black's bleeding through the colours but i'm just using this at the moment as a "guide" coat -mainly so I can see how the colours are going to sit on the model, and also so I can remember what colours are going on where - too many times have I started a piece, finished one section then moved onto another only to forget what colour I had decided to use on it. I'll keep updating this as and when time allows. Next thing I need to do is build up the basecoat on his hair.
