Much help needed wiyth gimp and posting pics

I am new to this site. I just found out about how cool cmon is. I found some of my old conversions and began creating new ones and figured..hey wouldn\'t it be cool for people to rate these??? Soooo i start a post with one of my earliest sonversion but notice it will only let me get one pic. I notice other people have what looks like one loooong picture which they edited and just shoved them all together. I noticed that u guys recoomend GIMP. I thought it looked easy at first, i was just copy/ pasting pics into it and i was gonna adjust them , but t wouldn\'t let me acess previous layers.:flame: I was like WTF....than i realized i don\'t know how big people\'s pics are width wise,,,,it seems infinite height tho... plz help me out, i wanna sho my stuff.

You can check the size of any image online by right clicking, which brings up a menu. Right down at the bottom should be Properties. Among other things that gives you the pixel dimensions for the image.

As far as building a multi-frame image is concerned it\'s a bit difficult to explain verbally, especially if you\'re new to software of this kind. It\'s not difficult to do, don\'t worry.

If it helps, I think your problem might be that you\'re not making the canvas larger. So you need to increase the depth, so that you can move layers from underneath others (where they were hidden by the ones higher up).

I\'d recommend searching for GIMP or Photoshop guides on creating montages or mosaics - the two programs work very similarly with most of the basic functions available in both, so a guide for Photoshop can often apply directly to GIMP or PSP. You should be able to find articles that\'ll enable you to figure out how to do it, even if they don\'t describe the same kind of thing exactly.

First of all if you haven\'t read this article yet, it was a great help for me using Gimp.

It was a little tricky combining the pics. Unlike photoshop, I couldn\'t really work layer by layer in Gimp so I worked on each image individually, cropped it and made sure it was 600 wide - then pulled the images into another image that was set to 600 wide and 3000 to 4000 pixels tall and then lined them up. After that I just cropped out whatever excess space was on the bottom.
