Muscle Beach

Some of you may remember that about 1000 posts ago I posted a pic of my Reaper Clay Golem to prove I was still painting... no, well I did so just believe me

Anyway, I messed him up and put him to one side until recently when I saw the chance to revive him for an online comp based around the theme of \"muscles\". So, I rebasecoated him and worked the skin up with a series of glazes. The base was made using textured paint (pva, water, flock and paint) with the sea water finished off with a combination of ink and water effects.

The photos are my usual poor standard but I\'m generally very pleased with the mini itself - a definite sign that I\'m progressing.

you need to pair him with one of Wren\'s beach girls and it would look like south beach.

Nice work. Your transitions are very smooth. The only thing I can add is you may need more range.
With actually looking at a mini, you can get buy with:

____|-----|_____ this much range.

Photo work requires:
__|------------|__ this much range as the lights tend to reduce everything.

Make sense?

Makes ne sense to me but then does that matter? Your best work yet Billy and I\'m proud of you for finally winning a comp! Good job!

Nice work, and congrats on the win! The base is very effective. I think the mini would have benefitted from a more tanned (orange ) skintones and some hawaiian style shorts, but the way you\'ve painted the skin is cool - nice range of tones.

Thanks, I decided on the beach base late into the mini. I reckon he\'s just arrived on the beach so no tan yet and forget his best shorts
