don\'t copy other figures, research anatomy and look at real people (photographs if need be.)
you will become a far better sculpter for it.

Granddad!
hey Dave,
your best bet is to buy some bodybuilding mags, borrow some anatomy books from the library, there are some really good ones on amazon too
that\'s what I used for this

Yesterday I picked up a weight lifting magazine for reference purposes. $6 and chock full of poses and angles. What I like about the weight lifting pix is that the guys are SO OVER PUMPED that it\'s real obvious what\'s there.....each muscle. Some of the \'art\' anatomy drawing books, even though they show the musculature and bones, I find hard to translate into my sculpts and such due to the subtly of the musculature shown.

Look at Deviant art under collection there are many drawing tutorials and one dedicated to musculature. The tutorial breaks down all the muscles in the back into simple shapes, and this makes it easier to build up on a miniature.

yo,

I follow body building (and train myself).

Do a search for:

1) rear double bicep
2) lat spread
3) rear lat spread

Should give you a lot of hits. I guy called \'Dexter Jackson\' has a great back. Ronnie Coleman too and my fave; Dorian Yates.

A great book for anyone doing sculpting or bodybuilding for that matter is arnold schwarzenegger\'s encyclopedia of modern bodybuilding.

Its absolutely huge and contains tonnes of images from all angles and close ups and even has lots of anatomy drawings. Its better than any artist anatomy books Ive ever bought.

Ahhh my powers of influence strike again !!

It really is a good book but you need to do a few bicep curls before you can pick it up! Hope you enjoy it :D

This is my favorite anatomy book:
http://www.amazon.com/Atlas-Human-Anatomy-Artist-Galaxy/dp/0195030958

I do have a bunch of issues of Flex as well though ;)

Having the fundamental understanding of what it is you are trying to recreate is absolutely key, but it doesn\'t hurt to see how others have approached the same challenges. Kev White and Tre Manor are two sculptors to check out. Tre\'s sculpts are a bit more exaggerated anatomically, but both do great musculature.

Really? What can they do? Dave Henry would still be an absolute beast without AAS I feel... They\'re not a magic bullet that everyone thinks..

Sorry, whilst almost 100% of IFBB competitors use steroids it still shouldn\'t detract from their work ethic. Eating and training until your sick week in week out.

If steroids worked that well, we\'d all be taking them. Oh wait, mainstream media has them out to be this evil killer... meh.

Sorry for the rant but there\'s a serious lack of understanding about AAS and a whole lot of \'bandwagoners\'.
