i am attempting to do mushrooms on a base for the first time and i need to know if my current one is too big. also, if anyone can find an article on making them, that would be apprecieated too.

As far as \"doing\" them, I would suggest not to leave home. And perhaps put on a good movie, like Clerks II

making them is fairly easy, i\'ve discussed my technique before, but ill lay it down again. i start by making the mushroom stem (a \"stape\") with green stuff. it should look like a curved spike. i let it cure, then i flatten out another bit of GS at slap it on the stop. smooth it out, and shape it. if your really in to it, you can add gills rings, or whatever.. i like to very my cap shape, bells (like yours) and disks are my favs. i really do suggest you use gs for the stalk (and not wire) because its much easier to give it curvature and an organic feel.
