mutant sculpt

starting doing this fella having been inspired by something that i saw on conceptart.org. he is a mutant of some kind. i liked the idea of him looking normally when viewed from one side and totally freaky from the other

Picture067.jpg

Picture068.jpg

he is sculpted using a greenstuff/procreate mix and also avies apoxie sculpt (i think - dragonforgedesign got some for me). i used an armature that i picked up at the mdj and built up the muscular structure with the gs/procreate mix. i am in the process of bulking him out with the softer apxoie sculpt now.

any ideas/criticisms? i may need to adjust his nose a bit, it looks a bit wide

Egads that is creepy looking!!

No suggestions, other than I think the placement of the ear looks off a bit.

Tis some mighty fine work you are doing there!

why thank you. i have checked the ear and it looks ok irl. i think the angle makes it appear higher than it is

I don\'t know what\'s more remarkable, the sculpt or the fact you\'ve kept your talent away from the rest of us up until now! ;)

That\'s awesome!

What are you going to do about the top of the head? hair, bald or hat?

I think a beaten dusty old cowboy hat would look awesome... kind of wild west mutant.

I love the utterly different looks to each side, that\'s going to be a pig to paint I think.

Nice one though.

Tim that\'s really Snazzy work.
The only thing that looks \"Wrong\" to me is the \'normal\' Jawline looks a little too deep from the Massicar muscle line.

thanks chaps!

@squidders - the hairs is close cut. i have already sculpted it but it doesn\'t show up well. i used the soft apoxie sculpt and made *many* indentations with an old toothbrush, this produces a very fine texture that should look quite nice when painted

@dr - yeah the face still isn\'t 100% but i am working on it. it\'s awkward as parts look great from one angle but crap when viewd from another

@aliengod - the armature is bone coloured resin. cost me about £4. worth every penny as it helps oyu keep the scale

Yea I was quite surprised when he showed me all his bits and pieces down in Paris.

(That sounds filthy!)
