Hey all, remember me? Its been quite some time since ive posted any mini's, primarily due to the fact that school keeps me far too busy for painting. Buuuut, i just finished up a 7 month project for school/portfolio and figure I would post it up and see what you guys think of it.

So its a 12 inch tall action figure. Most of the large, visible portions of it where CAD modeled in a program called Rhino, and printed out via a rapid prototyping machine. The rest if it, was a mix of sculpting, and kitbashing. The paint is Tamia light blue metalic.

So here it is! (btw, please forgive the format of the pages, they were designed to be shown individually in a portfolio book)

Nice job...
Man I wish I had access to a rapid prototyping machine.
Seen what they can do and boy would it make some project so easy.

yeah dude, rapid proto is the way to go.
But, its got some major pitfalls, mainly, price. This print took 3 trays to print, and i got it done in a clear plastic/like resin, SO it ended up costing me a grand, and thats with a school discount. But, as technology progresses, hopfully we will all be able to afford a desktop version!

You paid a thousand bucks to print this thing off? Now that's dedication. But if I were a potential employer - toy company, model company or film fx studio - I'd be pretty impressed.
