What should I have done better?

i think if it's meant for competition, it could do with more contrast. some darklining between areas would help it pop more. also the bionic arm seems to just go into a red blob and i'm not quite sure what it's meant to be. on the positive side, he's neat and the freehand is fantastic

what's the back story with this fella? there's quite a mixture of styles and his legs prove that he's not a pure human.

I agree with freak, more contrast is definately needed. Pushing up the highlights, and deepening those shadows.

Good luck.

Trying to take into account that these are pretty unmerciful closeups I think it's pretty good (no fan of the mini though). Contrast might do with being higher, but that's partly a taste thing and I suspect the photos aren't doing this justice.

Best of luck!

The things that strike me for improvement centre mainly on the face and hair. The face is always going to be a focal point, it just looks a bit flat, try and push the smoothness and highlights/contrast there. The reds couuuld be a bit smoother maybe, I suspect the pictures are just making that look a bit blocky though, as Einion said, these are very unmerciful closeups. The white parts, however are awesome. You can see the really smooth transitions in shading there, as you can with the writing and accuracy with it. I'd reckon on getting better pictures. There are elements of it that I honestly suspect aren't done justice with them.
