my bloody finger

as i\'m sure many of you have heard me whine lately, i am unable to get into my garage to paint. the door is swollen with damp and i cant get in. my landlady/housemate is a good friend but a but forgetful so she keeps forgetting to bring back the tools required to deal with it. as a result, i can\'t friggin paint!! argh.


anyway, every now and again, i try to get into the garage. as our phone line was down yesterday, and i was unable to use my room to sculpt/do anything in (becaue the main socket is in my room and everything had to be cleared out of the way ie onto the bed, for the engineer to get in) i decided to try the door again.

dont want to bend the handle so i thought one strong tug and if it doesn\'t open, leave it. so i heaved. and *snap* (followed by sharp pain in my hand). the bloody handle had snapped off and the sharp metal had dug in along the full length of my index finger. anyhoo, ten minutes of swearing later and i have stop the bleeding (well most) and superglued it back together. so i took a photo to share with you guys what this hobby can do to you.

heres my finger. it doesnt look too bad but bear in mind that the cut is over both joints (and quite deep at the end joint) and it\'s on the index finger of my dominant hand:

also, as i work in a hospital, i have to constantly sanatise my hands with alcohol gel. you should have heard the screams!!!

Ewww did it require stitches? Ive cut myself sculpting a couple times that requires stitches.. makes it tough to work for a while. Hope it heals fast.

As for your door, once you get it open, if you can get access to a hand plane shave some off and the door wont stick any more..wood sweels when its wet.

didn\'t get much sympathy, and no, i didnt get into the bloody garage. the main door is locked from the inside and it\'s broken so thats the only way you can get in. the glue held it pretty well so it didnt need stitches (but one of the nurses at work very kindly gave me a tentanus jab). as for the wood swelling (snigger) i figured it should have been ok as it hasnt been too bad over here lately. i guess i was wrong

I once cut my little finger on a broken drinking glass. I was washing the inside and it broke and sliced between my little finger and the next one . The cut was only about 1/2\" long but to the bone, and it bled for EVER and hurt like hell. I can\'t imagine what this felt like.

That\'s a very little known fact. That\'s why, above all else, cyanoacrylate, glues skin far better than anything. I was a field medic in the military and that was one of the first things they taught us. It\'s great for just that sort of thing.

So, when you say *bloody* finger, you are really referring to blood, as opposed to when Rev says he got *bloody* new paints *bloody* new figures, etc. I\'ve always thought the swear \'bloody\' was similar to the US use of *DAMN*...

Would it make sense to say My *bloody bloody* finger?

I hope it isn\'t on your wiping hand....lol
