I use a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LC33 for my minis does anyone else use this or something similar. I know it is kinda old and I am not a very good picture taker is there a better option out there.

Chances are that you don't need a better camera, just the ability to take better pics with what you have got. I have a 7 year old Canon Powershot A40 2MP which (admitedly with my limited photographic knowledge) takes pics just as good as my Canon 400D SLR. OK so the A40 is a smaller file size that you can't print out large but for posting on here 2MP is fine....or 3 MP in your case.
Make sure you use a tripod and the timer function so that there is no chance of camera shake. I also set the mini up and then use all of the optical zoom ( NOT the digital ) and place the camera back from the mini so that you get a nicely framed shot. By having the camera as far back as possible you increase the range of distance in which the mini is in focus.
I would say don't buy a new camera, learnt to use what you have got. If you want to spend the money see if you can find someone you can pay (ie a professional) to show you how to take pics of minis. That will be far more useful in the long term.

I would rather save my money and spend it on the kiddies so I am trying to get this camera to work at peak effectiveness.

So why ask about better cameras?

I'm blowing all my spare cash on gear now before the boy starts demanding ridiculously expensive trainers and eating half my wages every month. :D

Have a look in the tutorials section on the main CMON page - plenty of good photography tutes/info in there...

I am at odds really I want like a 10 mega pix camera gotta try to sneak it in somehow know what I mean.

There used to be a guy at GW Brighton who came into the store, bought figures and then emptied the packs into his figure case with older unpainted minis. That way he could get it back to his house and claim that they were old minis so his wife wouldn't go ballistic:curse!: over his spending.

Sounds like you need to develop a tactic like that:claply:

Forget the resolution of the camera - it's a worthless figure that manufacturers use to sell cameras. Fact is that many compact cameras would benefit substantially from resolution being reduced.

You'd be better advised to look at the quality and speed of the lens, macro performance and whether you can manually control settings such as shutter speed and aperture.
