Modo, it really is a good job, and I have been thinking over your nmm on the sword since you posted it. I\'m really having trouble deciding if I love it or not. I think I know what you\'re going for and I really appreciate it. A more weathered nmm can look extrodinary, but it\'s hard sometimes to convince the eye of the veiwer (us). Weathered metal can have much the same look as lower quality blending because it comes out with a mottled effect such as what you\'ve shown here. I\'m coming around to really like it however and the reason is because because the nmm gold you\'ve used is perfect, it gives us a sense of \"trust\" in your abilities. It\'s almost like once we know you can do it perfect, only then does it open up the possibility to try other rough-looking techniques.
I don\'t know if I was making much sense there, mostly rambling thoughts, however to sum up, after a day or two of thinking on this one, I really really like your work here.
There are two other things however that would keep it from a 10 from me, one which isn\'t your fault, which is that we\'ve seen this model done so much, that I think there is a bit of a numbness to the sculpt. The 2nd is that the legs look very plain, especially in contrast to the \"bling\" of the gold in the upper body. I think perhaps something to break up the white on the leg, or perhaps a thicker gold band on the cloth would help balance the mini a touch.
This is a stong 9 from me however.
nice work, glad to see you posting it here so I don\'t miss it!
