My first 54 mm mini

I have always been a bit nervous about painting larger than 32 mm minis. But now that I finally pulled myself together, I can really recommend it to anyone considering going to war with historical scale minis.

I learned a lot, it was a really fun and extremely well sculpted mini. And it was a different experience, which was really motivating.

The dirt and grit was created with very fine pigment dust, and both applied mixed with water and dry.

Brilliant paint work, not that that is any surprise.

The face throws me off though...he looks like Ron \'Tater Salad\' White.

Got to agree with DAN he looks well happy with himself, his almost saying \"I bloody well told you I\'d get a chicken, now its your turn to make the fire\". Great job its got loads of character well done :D

Nice job, lots of caracter.
And really like the shield, especially those animals on it. Not sure tully quatered with lannister is a good idea though :p

Well the Lion should have been gold, and the fish black, if it should be correct.

But as much as I love A Song of Ice and Fire (probably my favourite book of all time), I didn\'t have it in my mind when I painted the shield.

And thanks for the nice comments all, it is really appreciated.

I was pretty sure you didn\'t have it mind, but since I\'m currently reading it I couldn\'t help but think of it :p

Great stuff Rune.
Somehow that scale really brings forth your skills on a new level. As suggested among the comments in the gallery I agree that you ought to have more fun with models of this size.

well painted indeed, lots of character and life.
If I should pick on some thing I wouldn\'t have taken the highlight on the green to the same level, but that\'s really just minor.
Nice to see more danes here.
