It's a hellhound from Descent. The base I sculpted myself with greenstuff. The picture is not the greatest, but it's the best i could make with my current equipment.
This is my first attempt at lava.
I would like some feedback especially on the lava part, but maybe also on the fur (its a reddish brown drybrushed black) and the glowing eyes (do they seem glowing to you, how could i have made them stand out more ?). And of course any other comments are welcome.

Thanks.

Well... since you asked.... brace yourself. I'm an Honest Guy(TM).

I'll start with the fur. Don't exactly like it, but I see what you're trying to do. Sort of a lava-ish fur. It looks as if it was painted red at one time, but then was worn off. I know that's not what you were trying to do, but there it is. Had I attempted it, I probably would have gone all out with straight black/gray hair rather than trying a lava effect. You could then still do the mane and tail as the bright colorful lava-ish scheme and had it pop more.

On to the base. It probably needs to be blacker towards the tops of the floating broken lava parts. Right over the edge and half the way down the other side. From there, go with the red, then working your way across to the whiter highlights. The front of the mini's base is very close to this, but then the mini's left (right side on the top pic) isn't nearly as much. It would help to draw everything more together if it was more consistent across.

I'll have to cut this short as dinner awaits, but you've done the eyes really well. The glowing effect is well done.

I'll offer some more if I manage to get back, but don't let my lopsided negative get you down.

Do you think the claws are too bright - thats a bleached blone, shaded and highlighted with bleached bone mixed with grey, respectively white. Also i was wondering about the nose, i chose to make it black, any suggestions there ? Maybe gray fur, gray nose ?
