That is excellent work for a little \'un! You\'ve got better brush control than some adults I know! Definitely keep at it I reckon you\'ll be giving the Frenchies a run for their wonga in a few years time;)

Great first job and welcome! I\'ll go vote and comment...

Just a note to your Dad...I don\'t want at all to sound preachy, but please realize sometimes areas in this forum are not always \'family friendly\' so to speak. Just so you know...;)

Very good work, young master Liam...
A critique or two (that\'s why you posted it, right?) :)

You have the right idea on the edging for the armor. I might do a wash to smooth out the abrupt change between the shades of blue.

I might recommend a wash of brown on the gold as well to give it some additional depth.

Keep at it! You paint better than I did at 18 .

Hi there Liam and welcome to our little funny farm :D
Great job there for your first pic. I wish I had been that good at age 9.
Comments: Basically what Jabberwocky said. Also, you might try adding another step in the colours. For example, try starting off the loincloth in a darker brown, then do the middle tone (the main colour you used on it), but leave the \"deepest\" parts the darker colour. Then just do the edges like you already did. That way it would look a bit more \"clear\", so to speak.
I hope that helps. Just have patience and keep up the good work! Looking forward to see more from you.

EDIT: Oh, and could you please tell how exactly you did the sword\'s blade? I can\'t tell that well from the picture alone... :)

Off to a good start Liam. Well placed highlights, as you learn to smooth them out your stuff will look even better. Keep at it, and welcome to CMON!

Liam, very nice work. There are plenty of adult painters out there that would be happy with the results. Keep improving and you\'ll be taking home a Youngbloods Golden Demon before you know it. Wish I had started as young as you, your brush control looks very good for someone of your somewhat tender years. I\'ll be watching your posts with interest!
