yay!

Always good to see new stuff...

I like your choice in miniatures. Those Maidenhead minis are very cool.

I\'ll go vote/comment now...;)

my only suggestion for improvement is to thin you paints and build up the layers more gradually. other that that, nice. oh, and no more gloss varnish please! i especially like the base on the harbinger

Nice pics and welcome aboard! I voted on \'em. The art of the photo is as tough as the art of the brush :).

I think both Amazon and the feral elf could use a bit of additional highlighting. Your pictures of the individuals are so close that your shading appears somewhat abrupt. I am the same way--at arm\'s length I think my mini\'s look good, but after the camera gets ahold of them, all my little blemishes become huge, hehe.

The exorcist is well done--worthy of a GD!

Went and voted! I\'m new to the entire photo thing, but the pics don\'t look quite right for some reason. I don\'t know if they\'re a tad too big or the camera is really realy close. I can totally tell that the minis would look great in person, but the camera is seeming to pick up a lot of the transitions and textures that you might not notice otherwise. Either that, or that\'s just our curse with dealing with digital cameras at really close ranges. :p

You can totally tell that you put in the time and attention on the Exorcist. It\'s a beauty!

Thanks everyone for voting. Your comments are appreciated. These things look so harsh because I took the photos too close. I am going to retake them and see what happens.

Lord knows I\'ll need all the karma I can get! ;)

@ philologus - back more or less on topic, I think what I like the most about the Exorcist is the effective use of colors. It\'s simple, but executed really well. The whites don\'t look \"too\" high contrast, which I like, since it makes it stand out to the darker colors better, and gives a good juxtaposition (sp?) to the parchment. The different subtle tones to similiar colors (parchment and white, black and the blue-ish reflective surfaces) give it a nice subtle variation. I see way too many vehicles sometimes that look boring mostly because there isn\'t enough different tones for my eyes to look at, even if the paint job is neat.

...yeah...I\'m better at as a critic than as a painter, I think. Same thing with the theatre. I seem to be a better instructor/director sometimes than as an actor, even though I have oodles of training in the latter. :p

Doh...you took down the other pics. ^_^ I was going to take a look and see if it looked like glare on the mini or something. From the Exorcist pics, it does look like you have some serious light hitting it. Do you have any diffusion?

Nice piece, well done. Taking an armored pipe organ into battle.......yeah, could happen. It needs happy little musical notes comming from the pipes.

Nice! :) The colours are well chosen and the freehand is neat on that Exorcist.
