Hi,
I recently got the Assult on Black Reach boxed set, then got some paints and gave it a bash. Please let me know wat you think, and any tips would be appreciated, as I am new to this :) Tips on how to get smooth yellows and reds would be cool.
(if this is in the wrong section I appologise)
Cheers

I think this is nice tabletop. Yellow and red aren't necessarily hard to paint but you have to know how to shade and highlight them depending of the effect you want to obtain. The first thing I see in your yellow is the shades that are too strong and not enough blended. Yellow is a colour that has to be shaded and highlighted subtly so painting dark brown shades isn't good, you should paint them in a mix of a brown and yellow.
Here's a tutorial from Rafael Garcia Marin, a Bad Moon ork so very good for yellow: http://volomir.blogspot.com/2010/09/ork-nob-step-by-step.html

Thanks Cheelfy,
That tutorial blew my mind, the methods are great, but his execution is phenomenal. I need alot more practice before what my head wants to do and what my hand does become the same thing.
