Having spent a good long time fearing cutting things up and not being able
to put them together in a presentable manner, it\'s taken me quite a while to
actually make a real effort at it, despite talking about the how-to\'s with people
quite often...
I finally put myself to the test.
It began with this mini being the core component...
But I didn\'t like the sword or the shield for her, so I looked for things that could be
swapped about for things I\'d like. My hunt led me to both my bits box, and to the
store, where I picked up the starting piece. And I chose this princess of hell...
I lopped off the princess\' right arm, because I wanted the whip as the weapon, and since the core mini (listed by Reaper as \'Female Anti Paladin\') had
its shield attached to its left arm, I had to search again to find a suitable left arm
that was similar in length/thickness. I found a mini by \'Adiken\' that had its left
hand wrapped around a pole-arm that suited well enough, and lopped it off, then
cut the pole arm away from the hand on both sides.
Test placing the arms found them too short for the anti-paladin\'s body scale,
so from here, I had to use extra-long pins and then fill in the gaps with green stuff,
to give them something closer to the proper length. This worked better than
I really expected to, having never done more than fill in gaps in assembly before.
I stole a blade bit from a Flameguard Cleanser\'s bayonet to modify (slightly)
into a wicked looking dagger, attached to the left hand.
Then I came to the conclusion that I was going to have to make myself do some
sculpting, because I couldn\'t figure out how to cut the head away without
ruining the rest of the mini, to switch.
So... I sculpted hair.. and I think it actually turned out pretty good for my VERY FIRST
attempt at doing so. Yay, me!
And, without further ado... the finished conversion... painting begins later.
