My first War Crow mini

This is the first War Crow mini I\'ve painted.
He looked to me to be more of an Elf Barbarian, and I didn\'t feel like painting him as a Dark Elf.
The armor is done with the NMM (non-metallic metal) technique.
The tartan on the kilt was originally going to be more complex, but after just these few colors, I thought any more would be too busy.
I wanted to try a subtle design on the inside of the cape, which is always a nice touch when other people do it, and I thought it turned out okay.
I got the idea for the face tattoos from the Slaine RPG books, and embellished the axe haft with some freehand.
The base is a combination of Sculpy and cork. I carved my own design into the Sculpy.

Here\'s a close-up of the face tattoo:

Nince work.

I like the overall color scheme, and the accent of the red on the base adds a lot.

I think holding back and doing a simpler tartan was a good call here. It sure could have looked neat more complex, but taken as a whole you do have a lot of stuff for the eye to look at. And simpler tartans\'a re just as accurate. :)

Nice work overall.
