Hello everybody!
I've been a long time lurker and I thought it was about time that I introduce myself and show what I'm working on. I'm fairly happy with the Blue portion of the cape, but I'm not happy with the black and will probably redo it a different color. Any constructive criticism would be greatly helpful. Mini is eHaley and taking a nap in the background is a Storm Strider Pilot(also below)

Hiya, as I'm pretty new to the wip world too, I thought I'd show some support. I think you have a decent start on the blue cape, nice and bright, but there's room to push yourself with further highlights there. The black is a bit flat, however I also have this problem when painting black. I always feel I don't want to highlight it too much because it starts looking grey, and to be honest I can't give much advice on that area as I'm still learning myself! If you do decide to redo that section a different colour at least you have the shading already done though.

How long have you been painting Akiwitesticle ?

Thank you :) I'm just not happy with the way the blue upper cloak and the lower black portion look together. I'm thinking of going with a very dark blue instead.

How long have you been painting Akiwitesticle ?

I've been painting for about four or five years now. All though I usually paint in spurts of a couple of weeks and then don't paint anything for a couple of months. So I still consider myself to be a beginner.

You could highlight it with some browns and then glaze/shade it with some blues to knock it down a bit or just do the grey thing wash with black and then glaze with blue +black to tie it together.

Welcome aboard. Looking at the photo in the first post i was thinking your paint was a bit thick, but the highlighting you just did looks like it was a lot thinner and is blended very well. Have you used an airbrush at all?

The base coats on the blue and turquoise were both done with an airbrush. The Blue is P3, not sure why it looks so thick. I'm hoping to get some more work done on her this weekend. I have been working on this for a friend all week. This pic is horrible I will try to upload more/better later.

Here is an update to the eHaley I'm working on. I've base coated the majority of the rest of the mini(no idea on what to do with the spear) and have started to add highlights and shadows. I also went back to the back of the upper cloak and brought up the highlights a bit more.

Hi. Maybe when you make photos, take the light source front of the mini. As i see the lamp is in too high position.
