Hey everyone! I've started my painting hobby after years of intrest (but no money to afford it) 6 months ago by buying a starter pack for age of sigmar. I split it with my girlfriend and got to paint my Stormcast Eternals. I had fun doing it but naturally the paintjob wasn't that great. I had no idea what highlighting was, or blending or mostly everything else (and still don't).
I painted that army in 1 month and then stopped painting untill I had the opportunity to buy something else to paint and finally managed to get my hands on some Shadespire miniatures.
in those 4 months between one paintjob and the other I spent lots of time on Youtube watching guide on how to paint and I tried all those techniques on my latest miniature, Gurzag.
I wanted to give you a little backstory on my path to painting because I'm enjoying painting so much that I feel I could maybe start painting on a commission.
I have a couple of questions for you:
1) Is the paintjob decent enough so that people might pay to get something made similarly?
2) How would you rate it? Tabletop quality, Display etc?
3) How would you improve it? This is the most important aspect of my post. Until now every time I saw a miniature painted better than mine, I knew what I had to do to match it because of all the hours spent on YT watching videos. But after making this mini I find it very hard to understand what I did wrong and how I can improve it.
I thank you all for getting through this boring read and for your help! Also, excuse my English, I'm Italian and I probably did many grammar errors.
Take care
