Hi all,

Need a little help here.... My husband used my computer to view my posted pic, and voted, and now there is an angry red number next to the rate score. Is there any way to remove his \"vote\"?

Thanks guys,
Jen

It isn\'t some kind of Scarlet Letter of incriminating self-votage. It just shows you what you voted on your own mini. Don\'t worry about it.

Nope.. and he didnt really hack your computor either..as CMON uses cookies..you were logged in and he voted and your IP address was recorded..hense the red number..that was his vote.Since its one vote out of a possible infinity of votes..not gonna mean a thing. Plus your allowed to vote on your own item every 24 hours.

So really what he did was harmless.. no worries.. but if a whack to the back of his head would make you feel better.. none of us saw anything

I personally don\'t see a problem with this.

This was Guy speak for : \"Yep I love you .\"

Sorta like a nice bunch of flowers but without the suspicion. :D

the only way you can personally remove votes, would be to start over with that image. if the voting means that much to you to have or not have your own votes or whatever...you can save the iamge unless you have a copy located off of CMoN already, delete the gallry image, and upload it again.

this will mean any comments and votes will be lsot, as wel as the image will have a new ID number when it is activated again.

also the URL to the old image will be lost so any webpages that may contain a link to an image located on CMoN will no longer function.

for future you could find a ruler and rack his knuckles the next time he goes towards your computer so he doesn\'t do it again, or just log out of sites you don\'t want him poking around in...lol

as for the IP logging, it may be good for people that are logged in to maintain their cookie or some such, but not everyone has a static IP so i would hope that the system works with that when recording votes. rather than worrying about an IP of a registered member, just worrying that a registered member has voted. and for unregistered members it would do no good for those with dynamic IPs as they could constantly change IPs and vote forever until they ran out of IPs if IPs were used for the only way to track unregistered voting.

it is probably possible for an admin to remove your own votes from your own gallery images. but that would be at their descretion.

Well, maybe it\'s technically legal, but I still think of that as cheating. I mean really... are we here to find out what other people think or to fraudulently pump ourselves up?

Thanks for the re-assurance though guys... It felt like a scarlet letter!

Jen

You are ??? I\'ll be back in 24 hours...
Wanna Bet? :evil::twisted:

since nobody has told you: When you are looking at a gallery, any mini you\'ve voted on, your vote shows up as a red number.

First number (black) is the overall score
Second number (red) is your vote
Third number (blue) is the average of the paid members vote.

There is a reason other than score to vote on your own mini - it makes it like all minis you\'ve voted for and takes it out of the ones randomly displayed to you. This isn\'t as likely to be a problem now that there are so many minis in the database, but back when there were fewer and more voters had voted on almost all the minis, I imagine it was handier.

I don\'t think the \"removed from rotation\" part works anymore. I see the same pics over and over during the same day. Nothing like seeing the same 20 repeatedly...
