My Otyugh

Wow do I love this guy. Otyugh's have always been as iconic to old school AD&D as beholders and ropers, at least to me. Just a great dungeon crawl monster.

This model is by Otherworld and I enjoyed the heck out of it. I made the little pool of green slime with Woodland Scenics Realistic Water and some bones bought from Secret Weapon (actually, the rib cage is a cast of said bones as I want to reuse them over and over).

This is the fourteenth miniature I've painted so far, I think my favorite. He's kind of a hard act to follow. He's kind of big; I think, as a throwing weapon, he'd do at least 1d4 damage.

Sloppy as a trash pit! Otyugh's prize trash and filth as food and typically surround themselves with it. I was trying for some sewer like corner of a dungeon, with the little drainage tunnel and green slime.

What a fun mini!

Everytime I look at him I feel a little bit of joy.

I actually poked around for a small "dentist" miniature. When I started this guy, I thought it would be awesome to have a little dentist/doctor like miniature inspecting his teeth with a magnifying glass. An "otyugh goes to the dentist" setup, if you will.

Too bad I didn't find one. :D
