My OZGD06 entry

Well I havent posted a pic for quite a while but heres the mini Im entering into the OZ GD.

The painting is superb, and the ogre looks fantastic! The GS hair kinda reminds me of the Hunter from the X-men comics too!

Not too keen on the mount though, doesn\'t feel right IMHO, but thats just me.

I think it\'s wonderful. The little details, such as the eaglet and the leopardskin saddle, add so much depth and character... the conversion is flawless, and he has an original mount too. The eyes of the goat are particularly impressive. I voted and commented ont his earlier, I gave it a 9 because the photo is not great... I\'ll save the 10 for later

I have to agree with OrkyDave

The paintjob and conversion are excellent, but the goat, hmmmmmmmm

don\'t know what it is, it just seems a bit out of scale the rest of him, but I can\'t quite put my finger on it.

Nice one! I somehow agree with the goat thing though.. it looks kind of out of proportion. It might the angle of the photography though. I also think that some parts could get some last highlights.. like the pants. But all in all.. great piece! Hope you get a demon for your effort!

Cool! That\'s much better Sven I just noticed, the goat\'s head is made from the ogre banner top, very nice sculpting indeed :] You might want to consider bending/fiddling with the amuletty things hanging from his horns so that they hang with the angle of his head: at the moment they are sticking out like the leather thongs (hehe ) are solid.

Oh yeah, and do what Bill suggested, the angle of the amulet thingie really throws things off.

Thanks for the comments guys. I looked at the amulets thingies and they look OK so I guess its just the pic angle. I\'ll check em out again tho as Im sure the judges will notice if they are out.

Great stuff ...The mount is great..It\'s one of those moments where GW have put that sull on the sprue and no one has give much thought to what animal it has come from..You have and have used a bit of CSI style GS\'ing to reconstruct the mighty Goat of Doom...

Put two entroes into the GD local comp and they both got thru to the regionals. Very excited about this. If I make it thru the regionals I will get to go to Sydney for the actual GD.

Thanx for all your help over the years guys. I doubt I would have entered if it wasnt for the help and support on this site.

BTW Vike you have a bit of work to go to catch up now. Im sitting around 700 I think.

COngratulations on getting through to round 2! Your ogre riding the mountain goat looks awesome haha, really cool idea! I love that rope tied to his crossbow bolt haha, and his stripey pants - nice work. it should make it through to the finals - I hope it does, so that I can have a look at it for real at the finals day!@ Good luck!

OK so I took your advice and reposted using SVENS pic. Funny on my old monitor it looks like this but on the flat screen its washed out. Time to buy a new monitor.

Congratulations, awesome stuff Ogrebane. I saw it at the store and its so bloody huge you just have to look at it. I think the mount is fine to, it\'s one of those thing you just wish you\'d thought of first.
Hopfully i\'ll get anouther look at the regionals.
